With its quirky attraction, the historic French One fourth Wedding Chapel was the ideal venue for their ceremony. And true New Orleans style, the couple and themselves took to the streets in order to celebrate right after. They integrated the same fun vibe to the details of their reception simply by transforming their family garden with their eclectic styling associated with bright colored flowers, blush-toned velvet table covers, red and teal tableware, sweet koozies, and tongue-in-cheek take note cards.
All of their hard work certainly paid off—their big day had not been only bursting with color plus personality, but it looked like it had been a total blast too. See the creative ways Chalise plus Madeline made their wedding ceremony uniquely their own, all incredibly captured by Savanna Sturkie!

The Most Memorable Element of Their Vibrant New Orleans Wedding
It’s hard to identify a specific moment because the entire day was so magical, yet our time at the church really stands out. It was simply us, our sisters, Madeline’s Mom, and Chalise’s Father. It was such a beautiful small ceremony. The weather forecast had been predicting some heavy rainfall, and the skies looked quite ominous as we approached the particular chapel, but by the time all of us finished, the skies had been crystal clear.
Wedding Day Surprise
With all the current excitement and tension of having ready and meeting in the chapel, we realized there were left our marriage permit at home. Chalise’s dad needed to drive back to our house to obtain it. Luckily we just lived about 10 minutes aside. Our service was planned for no longer than half an hour, but because we had just a little hiccup, it was shortened considerably. But it all worked out in the long run.
Working With Photographer Savanna Sturkie
We knew going into this that finding the right photographer for all of us was one of our best priorities. We wanted a certain look and someone who had not been only open with taking photos of a queer couple yet promoted it as well. Savanna Sturkie was truly every thing we could have hoped for a lot. We saw her profile and fell in love with the girl work, then had our own first meeting and dropped in love with her. She produced us feel so comfy the entire day. It sensed more like a friend than a employed photographer. She was able to catch the most intimate and stunning moments while also coming those candid moments which are priceless.
A DIY Wedding ceremony They Can Be Proud Of
We are actually proud that we were able to strategy this day ourselves. We did not have a planner, so from the invitations to the menus was created by us. All of us spent months planning plus organizing everything. We are each creative people and had a thrilling time seeing our vision become more active. It really wasn’t until the dining tables were set up that we noticed all our hard work got paid off. Madeline’s mother has been kind enough to allow all of us to use her backyard since our venue. And with assist from our family and friends—it all of came together perfectly.
